Pots

There was a time when I did most of my gardening in pots. It satisfied the controlly element in me. I also had little choice as there was little garden ground. I still use them a lot. And they work well with spring bulbs. Ellen likes them a lot.

Sometimes I wonder ... As I left school for university looking for the means of changing the world and joining the latest revolution, if someone had said that 40 years from then I would be extolling the virtues of gardening in pots to a small global audience and thoroughly enjoying it, I might have turned back and gone home. Or I might have said, 'bring it on'.

If they also told me I would be taking photographs with my phone, I would have wondered what hallucinatory influence they were under.
