April Fools

Well, this afternoon ended up with a very unexpected surprise. In the midst of the chaos of a Brownie Tea Party (fairtrade, no less...), a parent showed up with some leftovers from their younger daughter's sixth birthday party which had just ended down the road. She drew back the tin foil.... some cheese sandwiches appeared (artisan bread and gouda, mind, this is Kensington)... and then revealed some caviar canapes! Now, Caroline and I had never even seen caviar before, and, having tried some, are not wildly enamoured, but we did get wildly excited for the photo, naturally...

Happy things today include Really Stressful Meetings being over, a fabulous Brownie parent rallying the parental troops and generally Being A Star, Brownies excelling at hosting, hands to hold when you can't breathe, awesome pub staff who change notes (and Brownies who drop the 'thank you' cake on the way across the road) and waiting for the night bus - we're off on holiday!
