Behind the reel

I woke early this morning to go for another 5k run. Like last time, I had my exercises to do first, followed by the run and then stretches. I had to get up rather early.

Next off to work in the morning and then a conference in Musselburgh in the afternoon.

And now I'm at the Odeon on Lothian Road because tonight I have free tickets to the premiere of Spider-Man 2. I realised the other day that I hadn't seen the new 2012 Spider-Man film so I had to watch it on Tuesday night in preparation. It's most unusual for me not to have seen it - I think I must have boycotted it as it was so close to the last Spider-Man franchise. Turns out that if you give me enough time, I'll back down on most things ;)

Tonight's cinema-going experience includes live red carpet footage directly from the premiere in London. How exciting! I'm just waiting on my friend, Susan to arrive to go in now. All camera devices are forbidden so I'm not going to risk a shot inside the actual cinema - the ticket warns of confiscation!

So this is an old projector and reel housed in the entrance-way to the cinema. I thought it was rather interesting - it's not often you get to look behind the reel! The projector is behind a glass frame, which doesn't go to the top of it - hence the line across the picture!

UPDATE: I loved the film. It's easily the best Spider-Man film I've ever seen. Go and see it when it comes out, you won't regret it!!
