Doubtful Sound

Our second trip out into Fjordland - Doubtful Sound. Early start again - 7:00, bus to Manapouri, boat to the power station, bus over the Wilmot pass, and then 3 hour boat trip into Doubtful Sound. Stunning scenery - better than Milford we think though it's a tough call. Wilder and quieter.

As it was so calm we went out to the Tasman sea, saw a hump back whale, and penguins, seals and dolphins in the fjord itself.

The picture is taken of bottle nosed dolphins displaying around the boat. Lens was 70-300 Canon, and this picture has only had a bit of cropping - just fortunate that the usual reflections didn't spoil the shot. Also no polarising filter on the lens. Go figure.
