Getting on

The swan was about to settle on her eggs again when I arrived at the artificial island this afternoon.

I'd stopped at the island even though I'd had to work late and felt exhausted after being on my feet for 7 1/2 hours. My reward was not only that I was able to see that none of the swan's 10 eggs had hatched yet, but also that the Coot had laid a total of 5 eggs and that the Great Crested Grebe family was still complete with all 5 chicks.
