Harriet had to be at university to hand in a critical piece of coursework for a 4 pm deadline as a late submission would qualify for zero marks and a course fail!!

So why did the exhaust bracket on her car decide to snap whilst in the fast lane of the motorway?

I felt so helpless being 12 miles away in Huddersfield when Hats was on the hard shoulder with less than 30 minutes to make the last 3 miles to Bradford University.

Thumbs up to her sister who came out to assist and to the taxi driver who drove like the devil to get her to her destination with 5 minutes to spare.

Thanks to the Highways Agency officers who turned up to reassure her and to Green Flag who managed to get her back on the road.

A meal at the nearby diner (with less than healthy food) helped the two of us finish the evening on a better note and a new exhaust has now (Wednesday) been fitted to the car.
