Carlton Street

After work, Vicky and I went round to see our friend Hana, who started her maternity leave last Friday. It was lovely to see her and have afternoon tea.

Afterwards, I dropped Vicky off at her home before heading over to Stockbridge for a wander and to get a blip. Here is 'A' listed Carlton Street. There are so many beautiful Georgian buildings, terraces and circuses there, that it is a pleasure to walk round in the evening sunshine.

Georgian architecture is the name given in most English-speaking countries to the set of architectural styles current between 1720 and 1820. It is eponymous for the first four British monarchs of the House of Hanover—George I of Great Britain, George II of Great Britain, George III of the United Kingdom, and George IV of the United Kingdom—who reigned in continuous succession from August 1714 to June 1830. The style was revived in the late 19th century in the United States as Colonial Revival architecture, and in the early 20th century in the Great Britain; referred to as Neo-Georgian architecture.

Hope everyone has had a good Wednesday.
