By Himself

Light on the passed.

Herself led me astray and we trespassed in this old house. A newer house stands next-door but the owner has now passed on. It looks as if he used this room for all his bits and pieces.

It seems strange to us how, in this part of Ireland, old houses are abandoned with all their belongings to slowly return to nature, almost in the same way that grave goods used to be interred with their owner. It's as if there is a belief that the person is somehow still there in spirit and will still need everything.
