Merrier & Brighter

It was another cold day, but it was a bright one with incredibly blue skies. My daughter and I attended a Nutcracker tea party for pre-schoolers, complete with a performance and cucumber sandwiches. Afterward she told me, "I like to give, mom. Can we get a gift for Maisie and Cooper?" So we went to a pet shop and she chose a couple of doggy toys and some special biscuits. My daughter told me the dogs had to wait until Christmas. I feel like a couple of the messages I've been trying to convey have gotten through -- that Christmas is about giving and sharing, and that delayed gratification can be...well...quite gratifying. Am definitely in a better mood than I was yesterday :)
