Looking up

The red emergency cord, extractor fan and light might give you a clue as to where this old stone now finds itself. There is something the builders could never have imagined sitting in the spot below now! I'm so glad they left the plaque intact.

The reordering of this old Victorian barn of a church has been so well done. This is how it looks now.

I went to a packed out concert there tonight - Christmas in Venice, beautiful singing, brass and recorder groups, continuo player, cello and bass and two very talented violinists.

It took me through my musical life. I started out playing the recorder, the piano, trumpet (in a brass group), singing, flute (not there tonight) and when I hit a big birthday a very short while ago, I took up the violin.

Trouble is, I live in a semi and since the new neighbours moved in, I haven't dared play my fiddle because of the thin walls. The neighbours are heading home to Poland for Christmas and New Year so I'll be able to play to my heart's content. Their fish are moving in with me for a holiday.

Are they in danger? 'Fish killed by violin!' Stranger things have happened...
