Sittin' on the Bay of the Dock
Boys were up and at 'em early.
Which was good, as they were due back for nine, and nine they were home! Happy, dressed, fed, ready for action.
So from 0915 I was home, working. The way the rest of the month pans out, I need to get my 20 hours in early, so an 8 hour shift in two chunks was done; briefly out for an hour at 2 to get shopping, and then finished up after 6 and went for a stroll around the harbour; get some wind, sun, salty spray.
Disappointment that although G is away with her dad for the week, suddenly Ll decides to come home for the week; there had been a plan to complete the bathroom makeover, with me working from hers, then clocking off and painting. But if he's back, our cosy week is gone. Which is sad cos last time we had the possibility / probability of space, that too evaporated when Ll appeared. Frustrating.
So that's spinning around my head along with lawyers, family discontent.
We eventually decided Monday at mine, possibly Wednesday too. So rather than look at what might have been, focus on doing the best we can with what we have. Monday could be explosive; there's ample opportunity to bate each other.
Quiet Sunday evening after a refreshing stroll; tried Orkney for 27th time in a week, no answer, but eventually he called back. Calmer than the other day, reasonable, almost contrite.
Had a long chat about his health, quick aside about my plans and he acquiesced with no real comment. Think he knows he needs to keep his personal thoughts to himself and not drag me into his domestic situation.
And to bed, no word from her; assumed she was busy with dinner with Nic, sleepover, but that proved not to be the case.... Whilst I was sleeping soundly, al hell was being unleashed across town.
More work to do, for both of them. Tellingly on Monday, she said 'I have changed so much in my life, but I still need to change so much more'.. I sang her Apothecary Love by way of response....
