WHAT’S LEFT BEHIND

We named our house, Coyotes Run, because
At night with the windows open we hear tthe small predators.
Yip and Howl.
Often working themselves into a frenzy.
Then silence.

We’ll hear this night after night.
Then they move on.
Leaving fewer animals behind.
Nature’s way.

I saw this on the tee box.
Looking so strange lying,
On the freshly mowed grass.
So out of place.
Or maybe not.
