Weigh House, Grainger Market

This is the original weigh house in the Grainger Market, Newcastle. It was used by traders and customers to weigh their purchases and apparently was once a legal requirement of every market. This weigh house dates back to 1835 when the market first opened although the original scales are now in a museum. The current scales are modern and wheelchair friendly. EP and I were in town today to get a few bits and pieces. We popped by the weigh house for a blip and decided to have a weigh-in while we were there! Maybe not such a good idea!!
