Rendezvous

After lunch in Brussels and a stop in Cologne I am in the home of strangers in Bonn. Except that after an evening together we are no longer strangers and may very well have become friends for life. A spectacularly warm welcome from people I've never met before.

The choir I sing with is twinned with a school choir in Bonn who have invited us to sing in their school's 50th anniversary concert. Because our choir is also twinned with the youth orchestra from Leiden in the Netherlands and we've done so many joint concerts, they're coming too and will arrive tomorrow evening. As will a choir from Riga which the Bonn choir met at a festival last year.

Meanwhile, the 17-year-old son of the family hosting two of us has prepared an astonishingly good meal. We eat, drink, chat and laugh until way after we should have gone to sleep.
