Umbrae Fugit

Arriving home blipless (a dull grey shopping trip to Morrisons at lunchtime; weather wasn't great either) I noticed some rather nice sunlight and shadows on the longishcase clock.

By the time I'd got the necessary tripod out, they'd gone; so this is what was left.

It's a longishcase clock, as opposed to a more traditional longcase clock, as I'm the case maker and it's not as long as perhaps it should have been.

The clock mechanism itself was one that E's father renovated and it was her parent's wedding gift to us. It did take a few years until I had time to make the case but I was rather pleased with the result. Nice proportions, even if the weight hits the bottom a bit early.
