Mono Monday: Wood

Holy Cross Episcopal Church at Portnacroish couldn’t be in a finer setting, overlooking Castle Stalker. It’s a listed Gothic revival building dated 1809.built on the site of the ‘Bloody Battle of Stalc’, fought in 1468. The name probably derives from Stalcaire which became Stalker. Dougall Stewart of Apping defeated the alliance between MacDougall Campbell and MacFarlane, who had planned to murder Dougall Stewart’s father.
