The Fairytale of New York
The decorations are up around the house, however, they are not the sort that cause confusion to airline pilots and they land in your backgarden thinking that the flashing lights were a runway (especially in this fog). No just the simple little ones that give a bit of festive cheer to the exterior of the house.
Day 6: I managed to last until 17:56 this evening before having my first rollie. No winging at work today as well probably because everybodys in a better mood as its Friday! Me included!!!
I love Christmas and all the goings on, especially getting the family together. In my family there are OMD and Old dude senior, 1 brother and two sisters all with one child each and me. The oddest thing always seems to happen when we are all back in the parental home. An adolescent social hierarchy kicks in and its like I am 10 again and my brother thinks he can boss me about and both my sisters just like to winge, as if we never grew up at all. Outside the house we can behave like responsible (ish) adults, but thrown back into the mix and we all revert to type. Why? I have no idea seems to be the norm though. Good fun though!
The only down side to Christmas is the god awful music that gets churned out every year and gets played everywhere you go. The one saving grace is The Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and the late great Kirsty MacColl.
Have a good weekend everybody and be good, cause santas coming soon!
Well be good anyway, not just cause santas coming.
Its nice to be nice all the time. And dont think, Oh its boxing day Im going to be crap to people, thats not how it works. Ooh Nooo. Santa is omnipotent, he knows what you are up to! Why do you think he has a big grey beard as well!??!!
