MONOMONDAY: Wood in the woods!
A wet morning for our walk and though we started in the same place as our Thursday St Ives circuit we walked out onto the lane at the top of the estate but back in when it was decided it was too murky to have a chance of spotting deer off Altar Lane.
Back through the woods past Corinthian Column's Grim Reaper and then along the lower path to Baxter's Pond before returning home.
I hadn't seen that the Mono Monday theme was wood until I got back but realised I had a few shots that would qualify. This fallen trunk lying across the rocks has been there a long time though there are some newly cut trunks from a tree that fell in storms last year just beyond this point too. (The colour version is here which I am still inclined to prefer.)
It may have been a bit of a miserable morning but the damp air does seem to enhance the smell of the spring shrubs and flowers. A good morning for the senses.
