Beam me up, Scottie...

According to 2nd Century AD writers, there were three Muses in Greek Mythology. Aoidē ("song" or "tune"), Meletē ("practice" or "occasion"), and Mnēmē ("memory").
They lived on Mt. Helicon.

Between them they covered all that the thinking man or woman needed for a poetic imagination.

Some days the Muses - whatever their expertise - don't seem to be getting through to this shady grove in Parnassus. The rain outside is unrelenting, the rabbits are invading the garden unchallenged, and that band round my neck is connected to the USB that can hold up to 16Mb of all the important details I have to deal with.

Oh, and there is a dreadfully thick folder of applications for a senior post that I have to wade through and shortlist......

So "song", "occasion" and "memory" you had better get down here fast, or I'll give up for the day and drink coffee.
