NOW WE'RE COOKIN'
This is the kitchen. The counter tops are the one inch thick fiddleback Maple from Jon. As I said I had to patch the pieces together, but I left the raw edge to preserve the log look. The backsplash is pieces of the same material with the raw edge up to look like the other side of the log. Reminds me of a mountain range.
The top drawers all the way across are faced with half logs from the logger guy. The rest of the cabinet faces are the ceiling boards from the house full of sticks. All of the pulls are pieces of drift wood from the beach.
The floor by the way is just construction grade lumber (#2 and better). It's douglas fir, tongue and groove. It was glued and clamped together, sanded and sanded, and finished.
The door you see on the other end has a gas water heater behind it that needs ventilation, so it has a screen panel fronted by sticks.
