Which is where we were this afternoon , listening to the Easter concert put on by our granddaughter's music teacher.
Eighteen of her pupils played either the violin or piano. Their ability was wide ranging, from a little girl who had only had 5 lessons, and played a piece entitled
Fire Engines.
To the final violin piece played by a grade eight student.

It was a very enjoyable afternoon. They all played so well, even if some were a little nervous.
Our granddaughter played beautifully, and we were so proud of her. Well done Jennie! xxxx

The pupils also had a sponsored practise a few weeks ago, and raised about £500.
This money is going towards a fund, to help a six year old boy have an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy.
Sam was born with cerebral palsy. This affects mainly the muscles in his legs, making them so tight and stiff that he cannot stand or walk without adult support.
He has been having Botox injections in his legs for two years, and has been given the chance of having this life changing operation at Leeds General Infirmary.
It will release the spasticity in his legs, enabling the muscles to move more freely, which will then allow the muscles to be strengthened with the help of intensive physiotherapy.
This would then help Sam to be able to stand and walk on his own.

I do hope he will be able to have the operation soon. He seemed such a happy little boy, in spite of everything.
