The GlingBob House

As we wanted to walk Baxter with his leather shoe to cover his sore pad on his front paw, we decided to go somewhere different from our normal haunts where he expects to be let off the lead. We went to Pressmennan Wood near Stenton which is maintained and looked after by the Woodland Trust. It was fairly muddy after the rain of the past week and the mud is that horrible orangey red clay. In the wood there are a few woodland sculptures for children which have been produced by an East Lothian sculptor and arborist called surprisingly ‘Robin Wood’. They are supposed to be for fantastical creatures called Glingbobs and Tootflits and they are not immediately obvious as they are carved into the trees so you have to be on the lookout for them. My blip is of a Glingbob House with a carved door and window. You can find out more about Pressmennan Wood from this link. HERE
