Rijksmuseum ceiling

Following in Obama's footsteps I spent 15 mins looking at the art here (not even that, I just went to the café). Meeting two American friends who were doing a guided tour of the 17th century. I'd not seen the museum since it reopened last year, this is the atrium, a nice light central hall. I tried to find out the significance of the cage-like structure but apparently that's where they put the Christmas tree in the relevant season. I'll have to come back to see them haul the tree up, though I prefer my trees on the ground myself.
