Brighton Marathon

Today was the Brighton Marathon so we got up early and went out at 9am and walked to Ovingdean where we had a bacon sandwich at the beach cafe. We then walked up to the top of the cliffs to watch the runners who had already done 8 miles at this point.

From here we walked to the Marina alongside the runners, some of who came up onto the pavement to overtake others, so we had to be careful we didn't get in their way. Our plan was only to go to the Marina, but we ended up carrying on to the Marathon village on Madeira Drive. The atmosphere was great, there were big screens and deckchairs on the beach, so we sat and watched as the first lady runner crossed the finish line to be met be Paula Radcliffe.

We then walked back to the Marina and after a 6 mile walk in total, we felt we'd done our own mini marathon so sat and had a drink outside at Cafe Rouge. We decided to catch the bus home, had tapas for lunch and are now watching the F1 from Bahrain.

I had hoped to blip some of the runners in fancy dress, but there weren't that many so I decided on this group shot.

Anyway, I'll go and watch the F1. Hope you're having a good day!
