Glimpse

For two weekends every April, “York Open Studios” enables people to see local artists at work...

Ben Arnup is an immensely talented (even to my untutored eye) ceramicist who specialises in trompe l'oeil pieces such as that in the foreground.

We chatted, and I was grateful to Ben for kindly allowing me to wander around with my camera. I took several images of his work and studio.

The insight I got of the artist was much deeper than could be simply captured with an image of one or more of his pieces.
