A Different View

Woke up early. A certain cat needed to go lie in sunshine and eat a bit of grass. The other, always-hungry cat then started to tell me how hungry she was and it would be cruel if I went back to bed. Which is how I found myself poaching fish for her at quarter to seven in the morning.

She was delighted. I've had better starts to a day. I made a leisurely breakfast for me and caught up with what happened in the world. Specifically in India. G arrived safe and is now "enjoying" temperatures of 35°C in the shade.

As it was a lovely day here, I decided that I'd head out for a bit of a walk. I remembered that when we head out of town to the supermarket, there's a pretty good view of the Russian church from the road and so I set out to see if it was as good as I thought. Today's Blip was the result. I think it's pretty good. Rather strangely, it's known as the Greek Chapel here. I never understood religion.

From there I wandered down to the Nerotal and from there wandered back into the city centre. Which was mobbed. Today is one of the four Sundays in the year when you can go shopping on a Sunday and people like that a lot. Not me though. I quite like the fact that it's not 24/7 here. More 8/5 + 4/1 + 0/1. I think that shows how people here value time away from work as much as time in work.

Odd sight of the day has to be the Brit that I saw. Trying hard to be eccentric. He was driving his MG Spitfire with the roof down and wearing a Deerstalker. I was instantly reminded of Lord Basil he's on the right in that photo.
