Zaanse Schans...

Today we ventured into the northern part of Amsterdam to see the working windmills that Amsterdam is also famous for. Seeing the windmills work took me back to the past and just staring at the windmills from afar beside the dock of the River Zaan is a very relaxing and calming feeling.

I was also fascinated by the clogs, all wooden shoe, that the workers from before were using. I first thought that it would be very uncomfortable without any cushion in the inside of each shoe. But then they have different types of shoes for different occassions and types of workers. It was just amazing!

The cheeses in the Catherina Hoeve cheese factory were also good! But my favourite of all would probably be the Pesto Cheese!

And yeah, Tere and I were finally able to rent a bike and cycle around the windmills. From day one of arriving at Amsterdam, it was all we could think of but the rental shops that we went to would not accept our student cards and we are not willing to leave them our passports AND 150euros!
