Mullein flowers.
This little Mullein plant was only about a foot high, with these bright yellow flowers on it, out in the paddock. Spotted it while taking the dogs for a quick run around this morning. These plants are usually about 3 feet high, but this one is quite stunted, maybe because it is late in the season, and it is very dry at present. All the other plants have finished flowering.
Not a lot happening today. PJ left at 4.30pm to take D back to Picton. We went across to Te Mahia in the boat, then they took the van from there to Picton. I brought the boat back, and will go back later to pick up PJ. While in Picton, he had a call from someone who is in Havelock and got no way to get back to the Portage where she works. So he is going to drive from Picton to Havelock, and then back to Te Mahia. Then when I pick him up in the boat, (not looking forward to that, as it is now pitch black out there) we will take her to the Portage in the boat, then finally back home to put the boat on the trailer, and eat the fish & chips that PJ brought in Picton. They will be pretty soggy by the time he gets home. Will have to heat them up, and hopefully they are ok.
