Vitamix fun

My hubby was working for most of the day so I spent time with my family-in-law. We watched the Grand National together and Balthazaar King (my horse) came in 2nd and Alvardo (Tom's) was 4th. Andrew had the winning horse this year!

After the race we had great fun with Jan & Andrew's new gadget- the vitamix. It can make hot soups, sauces, ice cream and much more, all in minutes! We made a smoothie and some ice cream, both packed full of the good stuff:

Green smoothie: ice, spinach, pineapple, banana, apples, grapes, ginger and lemon.

Strawberry ice cream: cream, frozen strawberries, banana, honey, courgette, carrot and white cabbage.

You are not mistaken in reading that there was spinach in the smoothie or white cabbage and courgette in the ice cream. Both were DELICIOUS though.

I also need to thank Andrew for secretly cleaning my car, it was in desperate need of some TLC!

It was my turn to give Tom some TLC when he arrived home from work so he had dinner, red wine and some of the ice cream to enjoy. He swears he could taste the cabbage...
