April Shakespr Challenge - Cupid (Timon of Athens)
Day 4 of chantler63's April Shakespeare challenge - Cupid (Timon of Athens)
Wikipedia describes this play as "generally regarded as one of his most obscure and difficult works", and I describe this challenge as "generally regarded as one of the most obscure and difficult challenges". Cupid makes a brief appearance (worthy of just a name check in Wikipedia) and I quote every word uttered by Cupid -
Hail to thee, worthy Timon, and to all
That of his bounties taste! The five best senses
Acknowledge thee their patron; and come freely
To gratulate thy plenteous bosom: th' ear,
Taste, touch and smell, pleased from thy tale rise;
They only now come but to feast thine eyes.
With no chance of getting anywhere where I was likely to get any pictures of subjects associated with Cupid, and not living in Greece, I settled on what he said in the play - the 5 senses, and the nearest you have ever got to a SP!
