Rock House
A slow, relaxing day has been had today.
After a lazy lie in the Girlfriend and I only ventured to Kinver which is only about 4 miles away but does have a delightful little café where we popped in and had a light mid-morning breakfast.
Kinver is also well known for Kinver Edge which is a blinking good hill with quite a sharp rock face edge and the Rock houses which are built into sand stone caves.
The Kinver Rock Houses date from 1770. One has been restored to show what life was like for residents in the 1930s. At its height 11 families lived in the cave homes and it is believed they came about in response to a housing shortage for employees of the Hyde Iron Works.
