Accident and Emergency

Last night our son Oliver fell over in his bedroom and split his bottom lip. The minute I picked him up off the floor I knew he would need hospital treatment.

Sure enough when we arrived at our local A&E they confirmed stitches were needed, however they were unable to treat him there due to him being a child.

We were sent home with a letter and instructions to go to our other local hospital at 9.30 this morning.

Oliver was admitted to the children's unit and we waited for a slot in theatre for him to be stitched by the maxillo facial surgeon.

He was finally taken to theatre at 3pm and we managed to be discharged this evening.
