There's Many A Slip ...

... that's been torn up since The Grand National finished a couple of hours ago. Ours won't be among them as Tess, as she often seems to do, backed the winner (the only flutter we have all year). Our son Chris backed both 1st and 2nd at a fiver each way, so he's got considerably larger winnings as well as ours to pick up tomorrow.

What with that and Yeovil winning 2 - 1 away at Blackpool, one of the very few teams we've beaten twice this season, it's been a good sporting afternoon.

I went back after the race totry and re-take this without the reflection of the car, but they'd already replaced the National posters with ones for tomorrow's football matches. They don't let the grass grow under their feet in the bookmaking business, obviously.
