Hippocrates' Tree

This is the tree that Hippocrates taught his students under. Various bits of it are held up by a metal framework. I doubt whether the London plane tree that is visible is more than 500 years old but it may well be an offspring or related in some way. Next to it is a Turkish watering fountain. The Hippocratic oath is still valid in my profession and a journey here to see this place on Kos makes several thousand years of history come to life.
