Homestretch
Only 2 more shots until Alex reaches "maintenance". Since January 1st Alex has been getting allergy shots 3 times a week. With a few setbacks that only added to the number of shots he received we can finally say we see the light at the end of the tunnel. After Alex reaches "maintenance" we get to drop back to once a week, once every two weeks and eventually once a month. I can honestly say, he has not complained about a single shot or the time we've had to take to attend these appointments. Incredible.
In this picture, Alex's favorite nurse, Crystal, is administering the shot. Alex has my scarf pulled over his head like Spiderman, which is standard practice. I've only forgotten to wear my scarf two times, and in those cases, Alex made due with one of my sleeves pulled across his eyes. He also likes to examine each syringe before and after they put it in his arm saying he wants to "measure it". Funny little boy. We've had the most positive experience with the nurses and doctors. . . and the results! Happy day.
