Alba - St Ives
Interesting name for this restaurant on the sea front in St Ives. But no, it has nothing to do with our Alba, or Scotland.
The Alba was a Panamanian registered tanker that ran aground and sank off St Ives in 1938. Apparently the captain mistook the Porthmeor for the lights of St Ives.
The restaurant, which is in a completely refurbished former home of the life boat in St Ives, caught my eye as I walked around the stunning bay.
St Ives is really beautiful. I must come back.
