Up to the St. Bernard Monastery

The road over the St. Bernard Pass (in thevalley to the right of the mountain) is closed by snow at this time of year, so going up to the monastery at the top of the pass is done either on skis or snow shoes. The view is so different from the bare rocks of the mountainsides in the summer, I had completly forgotten how beautiful this valley can be in the winter. It is 35 years since I was last there!
