Chapel Of St John's College, Cambridge.

Built between 1866-69, this is regarded as one of the finest Gothic Revival Chapels. The architect was Sir George Gilbert Scott, who was inspired by the Church of San Chapelle in Paris and owes much to the 'Decorated' or 'Middle Pointed' period. It was thought then, universally, to be the only correct style for all ecclesiastical buildings.It replaced a smaller medieval chapel on the site and parts of the panelling from 1516 and some 15th century glass was salvaged from the old building. It is a beautiful place and even better on a bright day when the sun streams through the stained glass windows.
