Is it a bird, is it a plane...
...no, it's the son standing in the rose garden outside Maggie's Centre in the grounds of Ninewells beside a very anatomically correct sculpture.
Well, it's not really a rose garden. It's a big space that has been landscaped with tiered levels and inlaid with cobbles in the form of a rose. Never seen anybody using the space for anything much in the three months that we've been going there and even the benches that surround the place are largely unused. Makes the little bronze man seem very lonely.
I know that this is meant to be very symbolic and I'm sure that the artist would probably argue that the little bronze man was looking skywards while considering the meaning of life. For me and I suspect for a great many others, the religious overtone in this message is lost. As a result it really does look as if he is standing looking skywards while waiting on the next helicopter to arrive. (The helipad is right next to the rose garden).
Anyway, good news is that the chemo session was not nearly as stressful this month and all was done and dusted in a relatively short period of time. Could strangle the doc that made everything so difficult last time.
