Beware, here comes the quiet life again

The perfect composition for a migraine, which is why, after a week, the bottle of red is unopened, and the cake is only just started.

Typically I wake with a migraine - my head is splitting and I dope myself up, sleep , dope, sleep.

Today, I got up, bimbled about as usual, headed into work, stopped off for milk and got in. Then I realised that I was having problems seeing. There was a rather attractive zigzag moving along in front of my field of vision. I followed it round the room, and found myself feeling rather dizzy watching it.

I turned my head back to L and laughed as I realised her eyebrows had disappeared. Oh dearie me. I knew what was happening. This was an Aura. I had one before - but tragically this one happened at lunchtime while I was walking down the street. I noticed that one or two people as I walked past them, had no mouths. "Weird" I thought, but carried on regardless. Then as i looked around me more, and more... everyone had no mouths, or eyes...

To my horror, I realised that the world had been invaded by aliens, and I somehow, was able to see them. I stood in a doorway, and prepared to phone Lovely Moi,to warn her and as I stepped up I realised the faces came back, but other things were disappearing.

I made it carefully back to the office and explained to Moi what I had been experiencing and she said "Migraine Aura". I went and sat down for a wee while in a corner and watched around me as the lines waved and shimmered. I called the doctor and he said, "go home, take a pill, and wait for the migraine to kick in".

So today, when I realised what was going on, I went and lay down in the disabled loo - I'm still waiting on relaxing lights, candles and bean bags in the Demo room... After 15 minutes, the lines faded, and I got up, drove home, head out of the window. Took my pills and went to bed.

Now I'm awake... and fine. I'm not sure maybe if i could catch my migraines like that - seeing the aura first, and medicating I would save myself a lot of dizzy and vomiting!

So now... Cake!
