Newt Town

Snail for breakfast anyone?

Science week at A's school, and part of the planned events I promised a newt from the pond for observation (under strict instructions for its care and safe return)*. Having caught and bucketed said unlucky victim volunteer the previous night I retrieved his temporary home from the garden and found in the bucket with him… a snail. Which I had to reuse from a watery end with a soup spoon.

The newt was going to be the shot for the day but this was the better image I thought.
