Pieris japonica 'Valley Rose'
The little bumble bees that emerge so early adore this plant. It is festooned with candy-like flowers. Pieris, also known as Andromeda or the Lily of the Valley bush, is a godsend to our native bee population. We have several along the driveway: white, pink, nearly red, and they are awash with little bells that delight us and nourish our insect friends during the early spring.
