Keeping an eye...

Now spring has sprung, the surrounding farms are a hive of activity with much pruning and ploughing and burning underway. However, in a small community, nothing happens without the neighbours taking a keen interest, so there are as many observers as actors in this drama! In this case, my neighbour is keeping a careful eye on the activities of the farmer next door, just in case this year he might actually depart from the pattern he’s religiously followed for the past forty years… just like his father before him... and his father before that…
