Away With The Fairies

There is a story to go along with this picture.

Ever since I was born, my Opie (grandfather) has been making me glass fairies. He started off making me a butterfly, then a frog, and for 15 years, has been making fairies. He bought a book when I was 1, and made them from there.

Lately I haven't been getting them. I have kind of grown out of them. Instead this year for my birthday I got a glass jewellery box from him. Which is beautiful.

Anyway. All of the fairies have names, and stories to go along with them. This fairy was made when I was about 3, so I can't remember her name. All of these fairies have been broken in some way, due to my continuous moving. But we just glue them back together, and hang them up. When the sun is just right, the light goes through the glass, and lights up the room. Its a gorgeous thing to see.
