Boys stand still

Children have a curious fascination and logical acceptance of the inevitable. I spent the day yesterday with these 7 year olds and they didn't keep still the entire day - until this moment. They stood (well, climbed actually) huddled together on the edge of a family graveyard and described exactly what they saw. No fuss, no nonsense. Who died, when, and why. Boom. Then there was a quiet conversation about people they knew that had died. It lasted almost a minute, and they just stood together looking, content with being together at that moment in time, then, like fully sprung coils they were off again, kicking up dust and onto the next thing.
