Jungle Oasis
This northern Thai wooden house is 150 years old. It is called Baan KamthiengBuilt in teak, it originally comes from Chiang Mai. In 1964, it was dismantled and relocated near Sukhumvit in Bangkok for the Siam Society.
Today, it hosts a folk museum on the Lanna culture from the North of Thailand.
I have only discovered this little treasure recently. The garden is well tended and it is hard to believe it is right in the heart of the city. There are skyscrapers just outside the premises! And yet, this house is thought to be allegedly haunted!
I need to go back there and take more pictures (not of the ghosts, because it is closed at night!). This is truly a fascinating place.
