Watendlath Bridge
Back Blip
Day 4 at LPH and the forecast was not great. We were let out on our own again today, and the group chose the first stop as Grange Cragg. This was quite a climb towards the end but was a fabulous lunch stop offering views over Derwent Water. As we descended the skies darkened, and we headed for a tea shop. With some time to spare we decided to head up a very winding narrow road to Watendlath. A beautiful little place with old farm buildings and this gorgeous bridge, covered in ferns some of which grow upside down under the bridge. Would be great to have had a bit more time here, but by this time it was chucking it down, as you can no doubt see from the water, and the raindrops on the lens!
