Crazy animal lady!

Tonight when I returned from work it was quite
Dark, I went to collect the eggs from my chickens and tend to them as I do every evening. I got outside and could hear a strange flapping noise. Unable to locate this in the dark I found a torch only to find a female ( I think) blackbird with its head stuck through the chicken wire of the enclosure .. But from the inside. I have no idea how it managed to get in to begin with!

After a couple of carful snips, the bird was free butuat of been exhausted by having been trying to free itself all day. After such a stressful day and as it was so dark I consulted a friend who has kept birds for many years, who advised that it has no broken wings and excellent grip with its feet but that stress can kill small birds. The blackbird spent the evening recovering in an old avairy in the shed with food and water. Thank fully when morning came she was still alive and well and very excited to be freed !
