St Michael's Church

A quick blip of St Michael's Church, Linlithgow as the train trundled, through inclement weather, to Glasgow today.

The church lies in front of Linlithgow Palace, one of the principle residences of the monarchs of Scotland from the 15th & 16th centuries and the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots.

I am most drawn to the aluminium crown topped steeple added, in 1964. It replaced the stone Crown Tower dismantled in 1821.
