Karlskrona - a water town!
Karlskrona is a city built on an island and surrounded by islands, down on the SE tip of Sweden. It is also home to the Blekinge Institute of Technology, which is why I am here. The conference I'm attending is based here at BTH (the institute's Swedish initials.)
This photograph is taken 100 meters from the Institute, looking over the water to the houses on a smaller island (see blipfoto map).
As you can see we enjoyed sunny weather today but unfortunately it is no warmer here than it is at home, about 4C, even though I've moved 870 kilometers further south. After the day's academic activities we took a boat out and around the archipelago and there were very few of us on deck. Most were huddled inside in a fuggy lounge!
